What makes the art works of Andrius Miezis so effective and attractive? First of all, they are weird but understandable. It means that when looking at them you can clearly see the limits of colors and shadows, the contours of geometric forms and objects. However, the content belongs to the typical underground mindset, it allows to grow for the ironic beauty weed. From the first sight, the paintings of the artist may seem skittish, full of childishness. Flowers, fruits, water-drops, masked faces from exotic regions and animals. Sort of moulages of reality. As if they were made from a glop material, clear transparent tones and limpid colors. The inserts of text in the painting emphasize the unpretentiousness of the author: here, look at me, I am open, I have no secrets or goals to be misunderstood. But don’t be naive, as the artist hopes to make you, by taking you through the rooms of fun/anecdote/sincerely scary dream/domestic topics. Crazy, half grind thoughts mix in a parallel/crosswise/lengthwise way in one format, drip in sudden, unexpected twists of the plot, and seek to catch and take you info the gulf of nurtured, surrealistic fantasies.  – Read more -
